Bath Time

Hugh went through a phase about a year ago where he would refuse a bath or shower. Bath time was a time of day that became so dreaded by us. Kicking, screaming, tears, biting, you name it....it happened. When Hazel was born, he seemed to grow out of his fear of the tub. I guess he wanted to set a good example for his baby sister. Now, they love to have bath time together. It overjoys me to see how sweetly they play together.

Here, Hazel is intently watching Hugh fly his sea plane.

Mr. Mason

I've recently reconnected with an old friend. Her little man, Mason, has been so fun to watch grow. I finally got to catch him during a nap and we snuck him into Hazel's old bassinet for some yummy pictures. I just can't resist his natural occurring faux hawk.

Only 3

Hugh. My sweet boy. Sometimes I forget he is still only 3 years old. Compared to his baby sister, he seems ancient.  We lose our patience with him too quickly some days and have to step back and remember, he's still only 3.
He knows way too many swear words (and the exact context in which to use said words), pushes way too many limits ("I can cut the package open myself, Mommy"), and stays up way too late.
He showers himself, feeds himself, dresses himself. He kisses his own boo-boo's when he falls down. It's so easy to forget, he's only 3. I know in the blink of an eye he will be grown, and I will look back and wish I had savored every painful toddler moment. The days I am disheveled and going bat-shit crazy, I must remember, he's only 3, and it will only last a short while. For now on, I will enjoy every crazy 3 year-old moment he has to offer me. Especially these sweet sleepy moments when he decides to take a nap in my bed.

Photography Practice

As we all know, I've been taking pictures like a crazy person and have been struggling to get those perfect crisp images I see on everyone else's pages. One of my lovely friends offered to help me tweak my camera settings so that I can improve my photo quality. A few small changes have seemed to make a world of difference (at least to me). Hopefully I will only continue to improve. My next goal is to get my hands on some professional editing software instead of using my janky iPhone apps!

Everyday Moments

A friend on Instagram tagged me and asked me to share some "everyday moments" for five days in a row. Per my usual style, I fell behind and it took me way longer than five days to complete. I threw in a couple extras just because I can. :)

Day 1
Morning coffee help.

Day 2
Lap naps.

Day 3
Face Time calls with Daddy.

Day 4
Attempted tattoo removal by Hazel

Day 5
Spring Digging
