Hazel's Birth

I will spare you all the gory details. Instead, here are a few fun facts about the labor and delivery.

1. My water broke at 9 a.m.......while I was napping. Yes, I said napping. I didn't know if it had broken or not. Contrary to popular belief, you don't always feel the flood gates open; It was more like a tiny trickle. For several hours I was fairly positive I had lost any and all control of my bladder.

2. I shamelessly accepted an epidural after only a few hours of easy labor.

3. I dilated very quickly with Hazel. Even better, she came out with two small pushes. When I gave birth to Hugh, I pushed for an hour and a half.

4. Hazel nursed the moment she was born and has always been a champ (knock on wood).

5. When Hugh met Hazel for the first time, he sang "Soft Kitty" to her. A moment I will never forget.
